In Berlin now, Dalaki 02 compilation now available

Seems nice here. Going to try to lay low and do some work, but I suppose I should also get out and explore what’s rumored to be one of the awesomest cities on the planet.

Cologne gig –

Thursday in Berlin —

I have a track on what looks like a really cool compilation put together by the folks at Dalaki. It’s ultra-fancy packaged, super limited edition has some really nice music on it, and is sure to be worth millions in ten years or so.

less grumpy

Last night’s gig went well. Met some cool people. Enjoyed hearing and meeting equipo. Nice guy, good, clever music. His visuals guy was great too.

I’ve landed in barcelona. grumpy then happy, and back to grumpy

Things sucked at first because I got in at 9:15AM and couldn’t check in until 2PM. Then I got to my guesthouse and got in to bed and fell asleep, and things were great. Then, an hour later, someone here started blasted some of the vilest robo-cheez euro-dance-pop radio imaginable. So now I’m a little grumpy again.

I’m going to check out a gig by AndrĂ© Goncalves, which happens to be two blocks from this pit of degenerate disco hell I’m currently trying to sleep in.

Here’s my gig in barcelona tomorrow. Watch out Barcelona. It’s revenge time!

I’m thrilled to be able to say that Joshue and I have been invited to perform at this year’s Mutek festival in Montreal. We’ll be opening for one of our heroes, Murcof, on Wednesday, May 28.

Introducing Ripple

RippleI’ve been wanting to share the software I use for quite a long time, and finally have it in halfway decent shape. You can download it here. I’ll be giving a workshop on it, along with some SuperCollider fundamentals Wednesday, January 30, at Warper, at 8:30.

A few facts about Ripple:

* Mac-only, for now
* Built in the SuperCollider programming environment.
* Designed primarily to be a tool that matches my own ideal work style, but also designed as a framework for and container for SuperCollider patches.

If you give it a try and find it interesting, please let me know. I’d love to keep working on it, and to find folks who are also interested in using and contributing to the project.

Good Article on Laptop Performance

Robert Henke aka Monolake, a wonderful musician, one of the founders of the Ableton software company, and a really really smart dude, wrote this article perfectly summing up the dilemma faced by modern computer musicians.
